Following his full-time district service, Walker continues to serve school music programs independently as a Music Education Consultant across Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, and Oklahoma. Drawing on his experience as a director, fine-arts administrator, arranger, drill designer, clinician, and mentor, he supports band directors, student performers, and music programs in developing excellence in sound, movement, discipline, leadership, culture, and student outcomes.

His ongoing mission is to help young musicians and music programs reach their highest potential while preparing students to succeed on the field, on the stage, in college, and in life.
